Our Story
Hi, I’m Kristin, owner of The Story Grove, and lifelong book lover here in West Michigan. The Story Grove was born from my love of sharing great reads and my desire to spread joy and hope through the power of storytelling.
We are a family business who values providing thoughtfully curated stories that readers can confidently share – from teenagers to grandparents. We believe in supporting small businesses, which is why we partner with other small businesses to source many of our products.
What we offer
Curated Story Boxes featuring compelling books across all genres – from cozy mysteries to gripping thrillers, heartwarming romance to epic fantasy, thought-provoking literary fiction to whimsical reads. Each box includes a carefully selected book and 3-5 beautifully paired gift items sourced from small businesses, plus bookmarks and stickers.
Deluxe Story Boxes offer an elevated experience with premium books and 4-6 specially curated items.
Wrapped Reads – our beloved “blind date with a book” concept that’s perfect for gift-giving or treating yourself to a literary surprise. Each wrapped book includes just enough clues to intrigue you, along with a few small bookish goodies.
We also participate in craft markets throughout West Michigan, where we sell our Story Boxes, Wrapped Reads, as well as individual books and book-related gifts.
Our Curation Promise
We focus on one thing: great storytelling with minimal sexual content (rated 0-2 on our spice scale). This means you can enjoy everything from cozy comfort reads to emotionally complex novels, suspenseful mysteries to heartwarming romance – all without worrying about explicit scenes.
Our books may include other mature themes such as violence, complex emotional content, dark historical events, or difficult topics. We curate specifically for compelling stories with limited spice, not for creating exclusively lighthearted reading experiences.
